A waterfall frozen to the side of a building in Jilin city in northeast China Jilin province, is the work of 58-year-old Wen Hsu, the only remaining resident, who left the tap running all winter to make sure his un-insulated pipes did not freeze.
Wen has been living in the apartment building for the last 35 years, but it was recently scheduled for demolition to make room for a new shopping centre. Developers offered residents compensation to buy a new home but Wen refused and remained even after everyone else moved out.
